A VOICE FOR WILDLIFE

Wildlife and its’ habitat cannot speak or take action to protect itself, so we must and we will.

IF WE CANNOT COME TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY IN THE NAME OF CONSERVATION, THEN WE ALL FALL SHORT OF OUR DUTY TO PRESERVE WHAT’S TRULY EPIC.

DONATE NOW

OUR COMMuNITY MUST RAISE $3 million TO PURCHASE THIS PARCEL FOR THE VAIL BIGHORNS OR RUN THE RISK OF LOSING THEM FOREVER.

In partnership with the Wild Sheep Foundation and Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society, the Vail Bighorn Sheep Initiative is a coalition of wildlife professionals, conservation advocates, and local residents working alongside our local municipalities and conservation agencies to save the Gore Range bighorn sheep by raising the funds necessary to forever protect and preserve this imperiled legacy herd.

Our collective action is the key to ensuring that the Vail Bighorn Sheep continue to thrive in their native habitats. Join us in this vital mission to safeguard bighorn sheep for generations to come by making an online donation today. Together, we can make a significant impact and leave a lasting legacy of conservation and respect for the natural world, in our world class community of Vail, Colorado. All gifts are 100% tax-deductible as allowable by law and go through the Vail Bighorn Initiative’s 501(c)3 partner, Wild Sheep Foundation. Click here to donate and to ensure your gift applies to Vail Bighorns, choose Vail Bighorn Sheep Initiative under Programs.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT

WRITE YOUR EAGLE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND VAIL TOWN COUNCIL AND URGE THEM TO SUPPORT THE VAIL BIGHORNS.

The Eagle County Commissioners and the new Vail Town Council need to hear that supporting the preservation of the Vail Bighorns has wide scale public support. Each Council must vote to approve their respective contributions to this crucial conservation effort. Contact your Eagle County Commissioners and urge them to support the full $5 million the Eagle County Open Space Advisory Committee recommended to support preservation of the Vail Bighorn Sheep. Then contact Vail Town Council and urge them to vote to approve whatever it takes to purchase the Booth Heights parcel to forever preserve this iconic herd.
